Begin using ScarAway as soon as the wound has fully closed (e.g. skin is healed and there is no oozing, crusting or irritation in the area). Treatment with ScarAway for post-surgical scars may typically begin approximately 1-2 weeks after stitches or staples are removed or when cleared by your physician or surgeon for use.
For existing scars, you may begin using ScarAway immediately, provided your skin is intact and no wounds or irritation are present.

It may take longer than 90 days to notice an improvement in appearance of older and larger scars. Extended use is recommended if continued improvement is seen. Individual results may vary.
Yes. ScarAway is effective on scars that are years old, as well as scars that are more recent. ScarAway’s advanced silicone technology works to soften, fade, flatten and shrink the scar so that it appears closer to your skin’s natural color and texture.
ScarAway works to diminish the appearance of hypertrophic scars and keloids, which have a raised and/or discolored appearance. These types of scars may result from surgery, injury, burns, acne, insect bites, C-sections, and more. ScarAway also reduces redness, itching, and discomfort associated with scars.
ScarAway products are FDA Class-1 medical devices for the treatment and reduction of scars.
As with any topical material applied directly to the skin’s surface, some type of reaction (usually a sweat rash) is possible. In the unlikely event you have a reaction, stop using ScarAway. After your skin has returned to normal, you may reapply ScarAway for short periods and gradually increase the hours of usage. Monitor the scar area for signs of reaction. Continue to increase the wearing time until a comfortable maximum has been reached. If you continue to have a problem, discontinue use and consult your physician.
SCARAWAY SILICONE SCAR SHEETS COMMON QUESTIONS
ScarAway Silicone Scar Sheets use Advanced Silicone Technology, a specially formulated silicone that mimics the natural barrier function of healthy skin, diminishing scars, both old and new, and restoring skin to a more natural texture and color. Research suggests that silicone acts to hydrate scar tissue, which in turn works to soften the scar, reducing its development and causing it to fade. ScarAway helps alleviate the itching and discomfort that often accompany scars.
Yes, ScarAway is available in two convenient sizes (1.5″ x 3″ and 1.5″ x 7″) to treat scars of various shapes and sizes. ScarAway Silicone Scar Sheets may be trimmed for smaller scars or worn side-by-side for larger scars. The sheets should extend beyond the scar area on all sides by at least 1/2.”
